About CompanionLandia

A living world for the pet you already have.

CompanionLandia is a persistent 3D world where you can create a twin of your real cat or dog — or adopt one of the many pets already living there — and watch them grow up, make friends, and go about their day, whether or not you're watching. Pets never die and are never deleted; neglect has consequences for their mood and bond with you, not their life.

Every pet keeps a running diary, a personality that develops from how you answer a short questionnaire and how you treat them afterward, and a neighbourhood full of other residents — some owned, some waiting at the local shelter for a home.

Who makes it

CompanionLandia is built by Waterview Technologies, a small software studio run by Brian Townsend in Camdenton, Missouri.

It's a simulation

The pets in CompanionLandia are software — a simulated personality, needs, and behaviour driving a 3D model, not a live connection to your actual pet. We built it because we think a good simulation, done with care, can still make you smile about the real animal at home.

Where the neighbourhoods come from

Some of CompanionLandia's neighbourhoods are generated; others are built from real-world street and building layouts contributed by the OpenStreetMap community, used under the Open Database License (ODbL). © OpenStreetMap contributors.
